Renewable Energy Technologies
RENEWABLE ENERGY
Around 16% of the world’s energy consumption comes from renewable resources such as biomass, hydro, wind, solar and geothermal. Renewable sources of energy have been the driver of much of the growth in the global clean energy sector for the past 25 years, and today at least 30 nations around the world already have renewable energy contributing more than 20% of energy supply.
Biogas
As a leading engineering consultancy in AD and biogas our work includes establishing major modern facilities dealing with a variety of feedstocks, gas production for direct energy generation, as well as compression and fuel supply.
Biomass
As an experienced engineering consultancies in the field of Biomass to provide power, heat and CHP facilities, using a full spectrum of fuel types. We specialise in reliable and high efficiency facilities, with some of the resulting plants using advanced energy recovery systems that allow them to even claim energy efficiency rates of more than 100 percent.
Hydro power
We work to innovate and streamline hydro plants. By utilising the latest technology and optimisation solutions, we optimise the power stations to raise the efficiency of existing units. We design, monitor and assure the quality of investments, both retrofits and new hydro power plants.
Solar energy
Over the last number of years, we have also been involved in photovoltaic solar energy projects with electrical outputs of up to ???????? kWh annually.
BIOGAS/AD
In terms of global warming and independence of fossil fuels, biogas has several advantages. Produced from biodegradable wastes, biogas can be used to produce low-carbon heat and electricity and can be upgraded for use as a vehicle fuel.
Biogas usage options
Biogas is a renewable fuel that can be used in several ways. Biogas can be used in boilers to provide heat only, in combined heat and power plants (CHP) to generate both electricity and heat, or upgraded to biomethane and then injected into the gas network or used as a vehicle fuel.
We have extensive experience in advising clients on all these methods. We also advise on the development of gas networks for biomethane, in settings where no suitable infrastructure exists already
.
Biogas upgrade
Biogas is made up of methane, carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulphide, water vapour and other minor constituents and particulates. The methane, and therefore the energy, content of the biogas can increase by removing the other constituents – the methane content can be increased to 98% or more. In this form, biomethane is suitable for injection into the gas network or used as a vehicle fuel.
