PowerCo Energy Ltd’s planned waste-to-energy and solar PV projects reduce a considerable amount of greenhouse gas emissions and contribute to sustainable development by reducing air pollution and pollution of the soil and groundwater.
PowerCo Energy Ltd plans to demonstrate the favorable contributions of the project by registering these projects as voluntary emission reduction projects using the highest quality standards available, either the CDM Gold Standard or the Voluntary Carbon Standard combined with the Social Carbon Standard. Registration of the projects with these standards, and certification of the projects greenhouse gas emission reductions, will demonstrate that:

• The projects make a contribution to fighting climate change;
• The projects’ contribution to the reduction of greenhouse gas emission reductions does not lead to a reduction of efforts elsewhere;
• The projects contribute to sustainable development;
• The local population supports the projects.

For investors in and financiers of the PowerCo Energy Ltd projects, this provides an additional assurance that the projects will have favorable impacts and will reflect favorably on the sources of finance. In addition, sale of the greenhouse gas emission reduction certificates will result in an additional income stream, further enhancing the returns for the investors.
